We're walking 60 Miles in June for Dementia UK
This June, we are taking on the Walk 60 Miles in June Challenge and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. This walk is for all the people who face that challenge of knowing a loved one (My Reason), friends, neighbours, for all and all the local groups who cater day's/morning/afternoons/time which is priceless to many. We are taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity. Dementia is something that requires much more research and knowledge to understand the causes of dementia (umbrella term covering all types of dementia) and future treatment possibilities. Considering 1 in 4 of us will get dementia in our lifetime, a lot more needs to be done to help manage it, improve quality of life for individuals and eventually the hope of a possible cure for this disease.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
