I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK
Hi there,
So not many of you know but just over 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis which is caused by arthritis throughout my spine.
This is a condition that is not visible and there is currently no cure and I am not able to have any surgery. As a result, although I get on with things and I am stubborn, I am unable to walk far and I find standing for long periods very painful.
Even less of you will know that there has been a lot of dementia within my family, mainly Alzheimer's and since last year there has been a shift and Vascular dementia has come into our lives.
Dementia of any kind is awful to go through and awful to watch and the sooner we find a cure, the better. In the mean time, supporting people who are going through it is vital and for this reason, I am determined to walk this distance and raise some money for this cause.
I will post updates of my progress throughout the month and would appreciate your help and support for this cause, my aim is to raise at least £250.
