Walk 50 Miles in January 2026

I have walked 54.35 miles in January for Dementia UK

In January, I  walked 54.35 Miles raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone.  I took on the 50 miles challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and am very grateful to everyone that supported me.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Any donation large or small helps, this is a charity very close to my heart having lost my father to Dementia and my mother lives with Alzheimer's.

Thank you!

54.35 miles walked - Target achieved - THANK YOU

Sunday 25th Jan
On 25 January 2026 I completed my 50 miles.  Thank you to everyone who has supported me and donated to my fund raising page.

I have enjoyed this challenge and will continue walking (as I always did), however, will stop posting. I just wanted all my lovely sponsors to know how important this was to me, that I achieved my target and to continue to raise awareness of Dementia.
Thank you everyone.
It is not just the person with Dementia that lives with it but the family too. I always knew what a cruel disease Dementia was, however, never really understood the full impact it has on the individual and families. Since my parents were diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Mixed Dementia (back in 2022), and the loss of my Father in October 2024 we have learnt so much, it has and continues to be a difficult journey.
Dementia UK Admiral Nurses, provide free, life-changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia.
Love and miss you every day Dad, love you always Mum xx
