I'm walking 60 Miles in June for Dementia UK

This June, I'm walking 60 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

Day 6

Saturday 6th Jun
2.1 miles today for the cause, so now at 13.4 miles after 6 days. Well on target for the 60 miles. Another visit to the spit where the harbour splits from the estuary, thankfully the sun arrived although it was very windy still.

Day 5

Saturday 6th Jun
Another day walking round town rather than specific walks. The longest walk of the day was over to the Cricket Club for the People’s Emergency Briefing film and discussion. The rain had well and truly arrived by the time we set off back. Total for the day in white was 2.0 miles.  Running total so far 11.3 miles.

Day 4

Saturday 6th Jun
Day 4 was spent walking to and from train stations and around Truro when we went to see Mamma Mia at the Hall for Cornwall. 2.2 miles to the total.

Day 3

Saturday 6th Jun
Day 3 was in company with Sands again,  so added 2.1 miles to the total.

Been a while since I updated here! Day 2

Saturday 6th Jun
Day 2 was a healthy 3.1 miles, part of which was done with my sister who has signed up to support my other fundraiser for Ed, the Pancreatic Cancer one.

Busy training, hope this weather hangs around!

Friday 29th May
I  have been busy upping my steps in preparation for the first of June. This weather is glorious and I really hope June has plenty of fine weather too. My T-shirt has arrived and I will update my profile with a picture soon.
