I'm cycling for Dementia UK
I'm taking on a cycling challenge and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

Done!
Saturday 29th Aug Today was the day. Weather was perfect - dry, light winds and overcast. First 30 miles before a food stop felt easy but struggled to get going again after. Had a bit of a rough patch around 40 - 45 miles but plodded through it and actually didn't feel too bad at the end. Furthest I've ever ridden, so next target has to be 100 km (62 miles) but won't be this year....
1 week to go
Sunday 23rd Aug Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. I've also received several donations in cash, which I will add to my total after the ride is done next Saturday. Thankfully the weather forecast looks good ! Will be out on the bike again today to keep the training going. Share
2 weeks to go
Saturday 15th Aug So, 2 weeks to go so thought it's probably time for an update. Firstly, a big "Thank You" to everyone who's donated so far - it's been really encouraging to see the level of support from everyone and it helps me to find motivation to keep riding. 20 miles done this morning on a (much) shorter version of the route I'll be riding on the day when I didn't really feel like going out at all, but knowing that you're all supporting helped get me out there. Taking on the challenge
Monday 20th Jul So, why am I doing this? To be honest, it came up on my Facebook feed and I thought "Why not?". My Dad suffers from dementia and I've seen the impact it's had on him and my Mum so I felt I should do this to help out an organisation who offer support to people who have been affected by this horrible condition. Plus it'll keep me focused on getting on the bike as much as possible so it's a win-win 😉 ShareThank you to my Sponsors
