Walk 62 Miles in October

We're walking 62miles for Dementia UK

Walking the Miles, Sharing the Journey: Together for Dementia Awareness and Hope

This October, the Spalding Older Adults Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) will be walking 62 miles for Dementia, a national fundraising challenge organised by Dementia UK. For us, these 62 miles are more than a physical challenge — they are a symbol of the journey that people living with dementia and their families walk every day.

Each of those 62 miles represents the struggles, the courage, and the resilience we witness in the people we support. As a team, we understand the complexity of dementia: the memory changes, the emotional weight, and the impact it has not only on individuals but on their families and carers as well.

That is why we are committed to walking these 62 miles together. Every step is a message of solidarity, compassion, and hope. We want to show families that they are not alone, raise awareness about dementia, and support Dementia UK’s work in providing vital research, specialist Admiral Nurses, and resources that bring us closer to better treatments and brighter futures.

For us, caring for people with dementia goes beyond clinical work. It is about advocacy, awareness, and community. By walking 62 miles, we honour the strength of those living with dementia, celebrate the dedication of their families, and take active steps towards a future where dementia is better understood and better supported.

Join us. Please support us. Donate today. Walk with us in spirit. Together, every one of those 62 miles becomes a step towards hope — for Dementia UK, for families, and for all those affected.
