I'm walking 62 Miles in October
I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.
An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.
Thank you!

Walking 62 Miles This October in Memory of My Nan
Monday 29th SepThis October, I’ve set myself a challenge: to walk 62 miles and raise money for dementia research and support.
I’m doing this in memory of my wonderful Nan, Enid, who we lost to dementia six years ago. She wasn’t just my grandmother – she was like a second mum to me. Her love, strength, and warmth shaped who I am today, and not a day goes by where I don’t think of her.
Watching dementia slowly take away the woman we all knew and adored was heartbreaking. It’s a cruel illness that doesn’t just affect the person living with it, but also the family and friends who stand by, powerless to stop it. That’s why I’m lacing up my trainers and walking – because every mile is a step closer to better understanding, better care, and hopefully one day, a cure.
62 miles might sound like a long way, especially with my health issues that can effect my mobility. but I’m going to try my hardest to do this, as this charity is very close to my heart. ♥️ Unfortunately it’s nothing compared to the long journey families face when dementia enters their lives. I’ll be walking with Nan in my heart, and for every family who is going through this right now.
If you’d like to support me, any donation – big or small – would mean the world. Not only would it honour my Nan’s memory, but it would also help fund vital research and support for others living with dementia.
Together, step by step, we can make a difference.
