This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Walk to Hipperholme and back

Wednesday 9th Sep

Phew… 10miles complete today. 1st stop was my son’s school and the second stop was to visit the coffee morning at Christchurch Hipperholme. Thank you all so much for the donations, support and well wishes. 12.5miles to go!

Lunch walk with colleagues

Busy weekend

Sunday 6th Sep

After a busy weekend of football coaching and children’s parties, I found a small window to take a walk with my daughter to our local supermarket. Thank you all who have donated and supported me so far. This cause is incredibly close to my heart and it means so much to have you all behind me. 24mi to go!

School Run

Thursday 3rd Sep

This afternoon our usual 5 min drive for the school run was changed to a walk. 3 miles done with my children, Seth and Olivia. Thank you for all the support so far! 25miles to go!

💙 30 MILES FOR DEMENTIA UK 💙

Tuesday 25th Aug

I’ve decided to challenge myself to walk 30 miles for Dementia UK in September.

This is so much more than just a walking challenge for me. Dementia is incredibly close to my heart.

I’m a nurse and a manager of a new care home specialising in dementia care, which we are currently preparing to open. Although our doors aren’t open yet, I’m incredibly passionate about creating a place where people living with dementia will feel safe, valued, respected and, most importantly, truly cared for.

My experience as a nurse has shown me just how much dementia can affect not only the person living with the condition, but also their families and the people who love and support them.

I believe that behind every diagnosis is a person someone with a lifetime of memories, stories, experiences, humour, love and personality.

That’s why I’m walking.

30 miles. 30 miles of raising awareness. 30 miles of showing my support. 30 miles for everyone affected by dementia.

Some days the miles might feel easy, and some days they might be a challenge. But every step will remind me why I’m doing this.

I’m hoping to raise as much as I can for Dementia UK and support the incredible work they do for people living with dementia and the families who care for them.
