Walk 50 Miles in January 2026

I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK

This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

Last Day. 50 miles completed

Saturday 31st Jan
Out at lunchtimes from work this week and last couple of miles completed today with my support team  aged 2, 4, 7  and of course Sean. You can still donate  to this amazing charity for a while through my link. Thank you to those who have already x. It’s not the best time of year to do this but it’s been worthwhile in more ways than one xx

Busy weekend

Sunday 25th Jan
3 walks this weekend, 8.5 miles in total.
One local walk near home, I got lost again, don’t ask but it brought my mileage up 😂A  brisk walk round Entwistle and a lovely walk round the favourite Rivington with friends today. Just 6.5 miles to do this week. Really enjoyed getting out more this month and we’re going to try and keep it up after January. Thanks for your support.

Weekend walks

Sunday 18th Jan
3 little walks, this weekend. Managed to  include jumping in puddles , my granddaughter not me! And a very damp canal walk, but the ducks seemed happy 😃 Please donate a little if you can. I do feel we could all be investing in our own future as well of those affected now. Thank you 🥰 7 miles this weekend , 31 miles walked so far x

Sunday walk completed

Sunday 11th Jan
And we’re home. A very fresh 3 miles . One thing I think about on these walks is of the people who don’t have the option to go for a walk.

Slowly slowly

Sunday 11th Jan
Struggling to get walks in due to the weather but ticking some off. Walked every lunchtime at work  which is a short 1 mile  a day and walked last night to the golf club to eat. A nice  3 miles. Would normally drive so it’s good to get the exercise. No photos as we were walking int he dark 😂 Going to get out today, looks like rain all day 🤦‍♀️it’s a great cause!, please sponsor anything, it makes a difference. Thank you 🙏

Weather!

Monday 5th Jan
Managed a walk at lunchtime and a quick walk tonight on my own. Strangely no one wanted to join me in the dark icy streets 😂Feel alive and refreshed now though 🥶2.5 miles in total

Lakes walk

Saturday 3rd Jan
Arrived in Ambleside yesterday. A gentle 3 miles yesterday and 6.5 miles today. The beautiful weather and scenery certainly spurs you on.
