I'm walking 62 Miles in October

I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Strava…

Wednesday 15th Oct
I’m halfway there - yay.  Oh no I’m not….  Sunday 12th busy house day so Strava in my pocket (I assumed counting steps whilst I bounced around re-juggling home etc & trying to find my Fitbit), apparently 8 miles? I’ll take 5 as forgot to switch Strava on for a later short walk & increase my challenge - 65 for you mum & dad 🩷💙🚶🏼‍♀️👟

The first walk….

Monday 6th Oct
A few days late starting as ‘still’ waiting for my knee strap support thingy  to be delivered, so a quick walk to get the old joints  working again (I have 2 but misplaced with house move 🫣). Let’s see what today brings - 62 for you (mum & dad 🩷💙 - missed every single day). Love your parents whilst you have them x

For Mum & Dad 🩷💙

Thursday 2nd Oct
In July 2020 lost my beautiful mum who had suffered for many years with Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s.  My amazing dad vowed to care for mum until the end, and as hard as it was he did just that. These diseases just don’t affect the diagnosed, the affect and impact is on all whom loved mum. Sadly, with a broken heart dad passed away December 2024. Nothing can prepare you for when you become ‘parentless’.

The support from Dementia & Alzheimer’s professionals is vital to support & guide all through this heart wrenching process.  Every little donation makes a difference, every person suffering or family/friends supporting someone suffering needs this support. Every mile I walk  I will be smiling thinking of the happy memories made. RIP mum & dad - 62 for you 🩷💙

Donate what you can & thank you 😘🚶🏼‍♀️👟💪
