I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

So my Mum was diagnosed with Alzemeheir dementia in May 2026.  She's had a couple of stays in hospital this year the main one being in March following a fall when we were out together and she broke her hip (yep I always feel guilty) her stays in hospital saw a decline in her undiagnosed dementia and after 4 weeks at home with me she suffered 2 TIA's after another stay in hospital we decided it would be better for her to move into a Residential Care Home so that she had structure and routine. It's been a difficult Road for both of us and I will always wish I could have her at home with me for ever
