62 Miles for Nan in October

In Honour of Doreen Ida Raven Haslam

She wasn’t famous — but she should’ve been.
My nanny Doreen had a wardrobe full of style — the kind that didn’t follow trends, but made them. She had her Cockney sayings, a strong cup of tea, her love for old music, and a way of making everyone feel seen.

She was loving, kind, and fierce.
The kind of woman who'd give you her last biscuit — and stand up to anyone who tried to take yours.

When she passed, I was left with a hundred memories stitched with love, laughter, and legacy.
This brand was born in her honour — a way of keeping her spirit alive, not just for me, but for anyone who’s ever loved someone like her.

Now, I’m walking 62 miles to raise money for dementia — because memories matter.
Dementia tried to take her stories, her sparkle, her independence. But it didn’t take her love. And it won’t take our fight.

Every step I take is for Doreen.
For your nan. Your granddad. Your mum, dad, neighbour, friend — anyone who’s ever faced dementia with bravery, and grace.

We’re building something bigger than a brand.
It’s a world full of style, keepsakes, and memories that last.
Just like she did.

💛 Every Step for Nanny – Thank You 💛

I just wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me through my Walk 62 Miles in October for Dementia UK — whether you donated, sent a message, cheered me on, or just believed I could do it.

What started as 62 miles for my lovely Nanny turned into something even bigger — over 95 miles (and nearly 100!)filled with memories, laughter, a few blisters, and a whole lot of love. Every step was for her — my Nanny, who was all heart.

Together, we’ve raised an incredible £647 in total — £587 through my fundraising page and another £60 in cash donations. Every single pound helps Dementia UK provide specialist nurses and vital support for families going through the challenges of dementia.

And I can almost hear her voice now, can’t you?

“Thank you for helping my little tinker do me proud,”
she’d say, probably with that big grin and a cuppa in hand.

This walk has meant the world to me. It’s been a way to remember Nanny, to honour her kindness, and to give something back in her name. From the bottom of my heart — thank you for walking this journey with me, for every message, every donation, and every bit of encouragement.

You’ve helped make Nanny proud. 💛

Love always,
Shannon 💛
