I'm walking 62 Miles in October for Dementia UK
This October, I'm walking 62 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

My Updates
Hello!
Tuesday 15th SepHi everyone, and thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
This October, I’ve decided to challenge myself to walk at least 62 miles to raise money for Dementia UK.
Dementia is something that affects so many of us, whether directly or through someone we know and love. Many of us will be familiar with the disease and the impact it can have, not just on the person living with dementia but on their whole family.
For me, this is particularly personal. Both my grandmothers have had dementia, and like many families, we’ve found the journey challenging.
My late granny Sadie suffered from Alzheimers ❤️ she was an incredibly strong and resilient woman who we all miss dearly.
My Granny Margaret is still with us today and will be 91 this year . She was able to stay at home for a long time with the support of carers and our family. However, as her dementia progressed and her needs became greater, it became increasingly difficult to keep her safe and provide the level of care she needed at home.
In July last year, we made the difficult decision to move Gran into a care home. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one for Gran.
Since moving into Altna Craig Care Home, Gran has settled in well, and we’ve been really pleased with the care and support she receives from the staff and carers there. It has given our family reassurance knowing that she is being looked after and supported.
I wanted to do something positive to support a cause that has become very close to our family, while also helping to raise awareness of the challenges that dementia brings.
So throughout October, I’ll be putting one foot in front of the other and walking at least 62 miles for Dementia UK.
I’m hoping to raise as much as I can, and every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.

Best of luck! 🤞🏻
