I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

As some of you may know, Dad was diagnosed with dementia last year.  This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Every Step Matters: Walking for Dementia UK

Tuesday 5th May
A few days into May, and this journey is already proving to be something really special.
This month, I’ve set myself the challenge of walking 31 miles to raise funds for Dementia UK—a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. Dementia touches so many families, including my own, and this is my way of giving something back while raising awareness and support.
What makes this challenge even more meaningful is that I’m not doing it alone. I’ve been joined by Dylan, and sharing these walks together has brought such a lovely sense of connection and purpose. Whether it’s a quiet moment in nature or a simple chat along the way, these miles are about so much more than just distance.
We’re only a few days in, but it’s going well so far. Each step feels positive, each mile a small achievement—not just for us, but for everyone affected by dementia. There’s something powerful about putting one foot in front of the other, knowing it’s all contributing to a bigger cause.
Dementia UK provides vital support for families through their Admiral Nurses, offering guidance, understanding, and reassurance during incredibly challenging times. Every donation, no matter the size, helps them continue this essential work.
If you’ve already supported—thank you. Your kindness truly means the world. And if you’re thinking about donating or sharing this journey, it would be so appreciated.
Here’s to the miles ahead, to meaningful moments, and to making a difference—one step at a time. 💙

My Mum had dementia and I’ll never forget how frustrated she used to get. I got very upset when she didn’t know who I was! It truly is a horrible disease. I did this challenge too. x
