I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK
My dad Tom has been living with Lewy Body Dementia for almost 2 years. He has been cared for by his lovely wife Maddie during this time at the home in Swanage. But a few months ago dad’s condition deteriorated to a point where it was no longer possible for her to continue the amazing job she had been doing, and as a family we made the heart breaking decision to move dad into a care home, not only that Maddie his wife made the brave choice for him to move to Bedfordshire where I live along with his grand children and his brother and niece. It’s been an extremely difficult time for the whole family but we know it’s the right thing to do. Dad is settling in well in his new home, and my heart melts every times I visit and See his face light up and he says “hello Sez”
This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
