I'm walking 90 Miles in October for Dementia UK
I’m raising money for dementia because this illness has become deeply personal to me and my family.
Since starting this journey with my grandad, I’ve seen first-hand just how challenging, heartbreaking and emotional dementia can be—not only for the person living with it, but for everyone around them, every single day.
If you know me, you’ll know that family means everything. The moments we share, the memories we create and the time we have together are things I will hold onto forever.
In 2020, I lost my other grandad, who was nothing short of our hero. He suffered with dementia and prostate cancer, and I often find myself wishing I could have done more to support him while he was here. Losing him has stayed with me, and now, experiencing the effects of dementia with my other grandad, I feel an even stronger need to do something.
I want to support my family, raise awareness and help other families who are facing the same heartbreaking journey.
This challenge is for my heroes—for my grandads—and for every person and family navigating dementia and Alzheimer’s.
The original challenge was to walk 62 miles in October, but I didn’t feel that was enough of a challenge… so I’ve set myself a new target:
🚶♂️ WALK 90 MILES IN OCTOBER 🚶♂️
90 miles. One month. One cause that means so much to me.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will mean the world to me and help support those affected by dementia.
Thank you for supporting me, sharing my journey and helping me do something positive for a cause that is so close to my heart. ❤️
This one is for my heroes. ❤️
