Walk 50 Miles in January 2026

I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK

This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Walking 50 Miles in January

Sunday 28th Dec
As you may know, my dad is a dementia sufferer. He’s doing really well considering he was diagnosed in 2014 and he’s nearly 90. However, when he said to me a few weeks back, “I hope I always remember who you are.” it was a little bit heartbreaking. My mum, as his carer, has a tough time at times. This is a wonderful charity as it provides support for sufferers and carers.
You might also know that following a netball injury last February, I haven’t been able to do much in the way of exercise. However, following an injection and physio, I need to start building up my exercise and fitness so this challenge, of walking 50  in January, seems like a really good way of doing this. I intend to walk 50 miles on top of my current daily mileage, walking around school. It will be a real challenge for me, especially as it’s going to be cold, but hopefully this will be a good way of motivating myself to get fitter and stronger, and help my recovery. And, it’s for such a good cause. If you feel you are able
to donate, that would be wonderful.
