I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK
This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

Walking With Purpose: Why I Joined the Noble Walk for Dementia
Friday 8th MayAs a recreational therapist and carer, I spend a lot of time with elderly people living with dementia. Over time, this work has become much more than just a job to me. It has taught me patience, compassion, and the importance of small moments.
Working closely with people affected by dementia has opened my eyes to how deeply this condition impacts not only the person living with it, but also their families, friends, and carers. I’ve seen the confusion, the frustration, the emotional ups and downs, but I’ve also seen incredible strength, love, and resilience.
That’s one of the reasons I decided to participate in the Noble Walk for Dementia.
For me, this walk is personal. It’s a chance to show support for the people I care for every day and to stand alongside everyone affected by dementia. It’s also about raising awareness and reminding people that those living with dementia still deserve dignity, kindness, joy, and meaningful connections.
This walk represents the residents who have shared their stories with me, the families who continue to show endless love and dedication, and the carers who give their all every single day.
I may not be able to change dementia, but I can be part of creating more understanding, compassion, and support for those living with dementia. And that’s why I’m walking, and so should you!
