I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK
A while back my nonna started showing significant signs of dementia, slowly changing her life, ultimately going from living independently to needing full-time care in a nursing home back in Sicily. My mom, who's here in England, stays in touch with her as much as she can, but watching someone you love change like this from a distance can make things feel harder.
It's a strange kind of sadness, she's still here, but bit by bit, some parts of her feel further away.
We're lucky that my nonna is safe and cared for, with family who can also be with her. But so many families are going through this without that support, and without anyone to turn to when it all feels like a lot.
That's why I'm walking 30 miles this September for Dementia UK.
Their specialist Admiral Nurses support families through practical advice, emotional support, and someone to call when things feel like too much. Every donation helps them keep doing that for more people.
