I'm walking 62 Miles in October

I am doing this for my wonderful nan. A lady so amazing her name is within the names of 4 children within my family and my own name is based off of hers.

My nan has Alzheimer's. It has robbed her of so much in a few short years, she once walked  everywhere, she worked on the market in Leeds, she worked as a volunteer for the RSPCA and as a nurse in a care home, she raised 4 children and helped raise their babies, she would make the best chips, nana toast and cups of tea, but now she can't do any of these things. For now, she still knows us and just about tolerates our antics!

We don't know how long we have left with her, not just physically, but mentally too.

I have signed up to walk 62 miles in October to raise money for Alzheimer's research. I cannot promise I will be able to do all 62 miles with work and the kids, but I'll do my absolute best. Anything you can donate is much appreciated, I'll post updates when I can.

Thank you ♡

Thursday 30th Oct
Little walk to the park with Erin and her friends today (and Mavis in her pram of course). For some reason it stopped recording my walk at the park but thankfully it tracks steps and miles separately too.

6 miles

Wednesday 29th Oct
6 miles with the kids in tow 🤪

4 miles

Tuesday 28th Oct
A walk with the kids, home from my mums and a little tiny bit on my street to make it up to 4 miles!

1.91 Miles

Sunday 26th Oct
A little walk around town yesterday I forgot to upload. I used the tracking but forgot to turn it off while in the car on the way home so it said 5 miles instead of the 1.91 I actually did, that's why the picture is different to the others as this is just the info of when I was walking.

7.89 Miles!

Sunday 26th Oct
A big walk with my partner today while the kids are having a day our with their nana and grandad! It rained the whole time but it was really nice.

2.57 Miles

Sunday 19th Oct
A little walk to Sainsbury's and back with the big kid yesterday. Got far too much from the shop so carrying that back was fun 😂

4.62 miles

Tuesday 14th Oct
3 little walks today! Back at it after me and the littlest have finally got over our sickness bug. To mums, then to school, then mums, then home.

1.83 miles

Thursday 9th Oct
Just a little walk today because my littlest is poorly and just wants cuddles.

4.62 miles

Tuesday 7th Oct
3 separate walks today totalling 4.62 miles. To my mums, to school and back from my mums then from my mums to home. The big kid did fab even though she wasn't thrilled to walk home from school after her swimming lesson.

Just to show the other walks

Sunday 5th Oct
I noticed the pictures I've uploaded don't show the miles on them and it won't let me upload new photos to the posts so here's extra proof!

2.44 miles

Sunday 5th Oct
2 little walks today to and from my mum's house, totalling 2.44 miles and 5,812 steps. The big kid did NOT want to walk any further today 😂

5.48 Miles

Saturday 4th Oct
The big and little kid kept me company on my walk today! I did 11994 steps so Erin must have done at least 20k!

4.65 miles

Thursday 2nd Oct
A wander with my littlest today, a few stops for errands and we stopped for a picnic lunch at the park. We walked super slow near school because we were really early to pick up the big kids so I stopped a few times to show Mavis flowers/conkers/trees. The big kids stopped at the park on the way home and did awesome walking home from school!

Practice walk!

Tuesday 30th Sep
Me and Mavis (my 10 month old) set off early on the school run today and had a little wander, after picking up Erin (7) we had a walk to the park then the shops then home again. We did 2.6 miles so it's definitely doable on those days! I plan on doing some big walks too but I need to get a better sling to put Mavis in for those.
