I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

30 miles done!

Saturday 13th Sep
The last ""5 mile"" walk that allegedly only takes about 2h 37  took me most of the day because I dawdled and took photographs and stuff. My moving time was 3h 7. Honestly not sure how they get their time estimates because even if I stepped out fairly consistently and not lost my car, I doubt I would have done it in 2.5hours 😂

I did a lower walk today, starting at Elterwater and heading up to a couple of waterfalls before looping through Little Langdale and back down to Elterwater.

Over half way through 30 miles

Thursday 11th Sep
I did a biiiiig walk today. 9 miles through rain and shine and then a LOT of rain. My boots are drying on the radiator with my coat hanging from the rail just above it. Really hope they dry out in time for walking tomorrow.

I walked from where I am staying near Ashness bridge up the side of Bleaberry Fell, across to Walla Cragg, down through the Great wood and into Keswick where I chilled for a bit before walking back along Derwent water. I was supposed to go up another 200m or so and cut across that way but I had a thing online that has already been moved for me so I had to skip ahead a mile by bus and then trudge up the road in torrential rain. Glad I brought my umbrella - it would all have been a LOT worse otherwise.

I saw lightning earlier a few times and there is thunder rumbling now as I snuggle up in bed. Knackered!

Thank you so much for all your donations! ❤️ We hit £200!
If you're reading this but haven't donated yet, please do. I am rarely an overachiever and this would be a nice time to do it! 😆 I have tentatively put the target up to £300...

Thank you again 🫶

The rain stopped!

Friday 5th Sep
First opportunity to actually get a walk in, between work and driving over an hour for different work and the *torrential* rain - what thunder the other day, eh?
My plants are pleased.

I wasn't so keen to work while drenched so I was happy to see that the sun was out today and the sky had beautiful fluffy big clouds. 💙
