Winter Reading Challenge

I'm doing Winter Reading Challenge for Dementia UK

This winter, I'm reading and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

I am aiming to read at least 6 books during this challenge which will help make a small dent in an ever-growing TBR pile.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Please donate anything you can afford, every £1.00 will help.

Thank you!

My Updates

Week 2 w/c 28.09.2026

Monday 5th Oct
Completed "The Midnight Train" by Matt Haig on the Kindle, and this evening I finished reading "Where the Heart Should Be" by Sarah Crossan.  This is a beautifully written young adult verse novel, and I loved it.  Highly recommend reading it if you get the chance.
I also really liked "The Midnight Train".  It's predecessor,  "The Midnight Library", is a book I often dip back in to and one of my favourites.
Thank you all for helping me reach my fundraising target, it means so much to have this support.

Week 1 w/c 21/09/26

Tuesday 29th Sep
I started to read "The Midnight Train" by Matt Haig.  It's been on my wishlist for a very long time as I am a huge fan and loved "The Midnight Library".  By the end of the week (27/09) I have completed 42% of the book.  It's easier to keep track of this as it's on my Kindle, but I will go to page counting when reading an actual book.

A huge "THANK YOU" to everyone who has donated, it means a lot.  My goal is to read at least 6 books during this challenge.  I managed to complete 7 over the summer, so I do believe I can do it!
