I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK
This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.
Thank you!

My dad my whole world
Sunday 16th AugFor my Dad, my whole world 💙
I am finding this incredibly difficult to write, but I wanted to share the real reason why I am taking on this challenge.
My dad has recently been diagnosed with dementia, and to say that his diagnosis has devastated me would be an understatement.
My dad is my whole world, someone that has always been such a huge part of my life, seen me and loved me. Someon i love beyond words, someone I have always looked up to and someone I simply cannot imagine my life without.
Since his diagnosis, I have been on an emotional rollercoaster, heartbroken, and incredibly sad about what the future may hold. There are moments when it still does not feel real, and others when the reality of it hits me all over again.
Dementia is something you hear about, but when it suddenly becomes part of your own family, it feels very different.
That is why I have decided to walk 30 miles this September for Dementia UK.
I can not change my dad’s diagnosis, and I can not control what lies ahead, but I can do something positive with all the sadness I am feeling. I can walk, and I can raise awareness, and hopefully I can raise money to help Dementia UK be there for other people and families facing this devastating condition.
Every mile I walk will be for my dad, for everything he has done for me, for every memory we share and for all the precious moments we still have ahead of us.
This one is from the heart.
30 miles for my Dad.
My hero, my whole world. 💙
