I'm making Time for a Cuppa

By the time you've made your brew, another person will have developed dementia. I'm going to bake, brew and raise vital funds for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £21 could pay for the telephone costs of four families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support. I am really grateful for any support you can give.

A Million Thoughts

Sometimes it feels like you have a million thoughts going on in your head at once when you care for someone living with Alzheimer’s . Even more so when they can’t fully tell you what they need, what’s worrying them, etc

Maybe you remember your child’s first words. Maybe you remember their frustration when they couldn’t explain how they felt.

This happens with adults living with Alzheimer’s and it’s never an easy thing to be part of. Oh, sure, we do have a laugh about it, especially when you say one word to them, and they repeat back something entirely different!

So, my reason for taking part in Time For A Cuppa is to raise money not just for the medical side of things, but to provide more resources, activities and support for families whose loved one lives with Alzheimer’s.

We would love you to come and share a cuppa with us, have some cake, have a natter. And, if you can’t make it, a donation would be amazing !
