Walk 30 Miles in September 2026

I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Raise awareness

Monday 24th Aug
Hello all!

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Years (many years ) ago whilst studying for my degree is Biochemistry- I had a research project to understand and consider potential drug treatments for conditions such as dementia (specifically looking at Alzheimer’s disease). My time was spent researching papers to understand what was happening on a biological level and I remember feeling optimistic about how different drug trials were progressing. Like in many cases- it is only when the affects of a condition like dementia  impacts you or someone close to you- that you truly appreciate and value the time and effort scientists are spending tirelessly looking for a cure or treatments.

As anyone who knows me knows- I’ve found a (surprisingly) new love for hiking and long walks over these past few beautifully warm sunny months- I will happily continue to walk every chance I get when I am away from work - and knowing that whilst I’m creating long lasting memories for myself and my loved ones (hopefully exploring some new locations throughout the UK) - I will also be helping to raise money and awareness for this critical cause. If anyone has any suggestions for places to explore to get my miles in- please feel free to comment!
I’ve particularly loved the Peak District most recently- and my kids love anywhere that have caves/tunnels/stepping stones or simply a good old stile to cross! Will keep you posted with our walking progress and places we visit!

Please donate whatever you can  to help raise more funding for this critical research- or simply share this post to help spread awareness.

Many thanks for reading this long post! Take care, Pascale x
