I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

John and I were only touched briefly by the awfulness of dementia, when our mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in the Spring of 2020. It was a very worrying time, especially as we were in Lockdown by then and so we couldn't visit her in hospital, we had to rely on the busy busy nursing staff to agree to set up the occasional Zoom call.

We were 'lucky' in that mum was given a trial medication after a few months that actually worked miraculously. We 'got her back' completely for 4 months before she sadly died of a completely un-related abdominal aneurism in the October of that year.

Dementia is such a tough thing to find yourself dealing with, and this charity does such great work in supporting the Loved Ones who are having such a difficult time.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!
