Walk 31 Miles in May 2026

I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

Last day. A special one.

Sunday 31st May
Today’s last special mile will be a great one full of memories. That daily extra mile supporting Dementia UK.

Buckingham Palace, my Day 14 Dementia Walk

Friday 15th May
The Buckingham Mile

Yesterday was day 14 of my 31 days of walking for Dementia UK.
I did it at Buckingham Palace at a garden party.

Well, it’s not often when you get to go to the palace and do a cheeky dedicated extra 1 mile thinking about all things, dementia, all friends dementia here and passed. And family.

Anyways, I’ve exceeded my target and some of you have been unbelievably generous and thank you so much. Thank you.

This started as asking just £3.10 from 100 friends and family and has grown a little bit beyond that but I still just ask if you can donate £3.10, or share with three or four friends that could just donate £3.10, that would be incredible because a little from a lot of people can make a massive difference for this incredible charity.

Have a great weekend y’all!

First 10 Days

Monday 11th May
Thank you lovely people for all your fantastic support. Monetary and other!!!
Pleased to report I have done an extra dedicated, dementia mindful walk every day.  About a daily mile.
This has been a bit of everything from the local care home, spots full of lovely memories and a few sad ones too.  Some central London and special detours whilst getting on with the day to day. Like at the hospital and even Brands Hatch.
Your £3.10s and even larger donations are hugely appreciated for a great charity giving coal faced support with Admiral Nurses when most needed.
Thank you from the bottom of my feet!
Nigel.

The Plan!

Saturday 2nd May
Dementia Walk.
£3.10! I’m hoping for 100 family, friends to donate £3.10 plus gift aid for this health emergency.
100 lovely people to raise £310. Please.
Admiral nurses from Dementia UK are the finest of support during the long hours , years of this horrible illness.
Cancer and heart charities have been out there for years whilst Dementia has been rising in occurrence and prominence with more illness, impacting whole families at an alarming growth rate.
Government’s not got our backs on this one and your £3.10 will make a difference.
Thank you for reading and hopefully for your £3.10. Thanks lovely people.
