I'm walking 62 miles in May

I’m walking 62 miles in May and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Day 20

Tuesday 20th May
6 miles again today. Actually pretty shattered now, and bits are starting to hurt a bit. Nothing much going on today - missed a photo opportunity with a deer running across right in front of me, but saw some sheep pulling funny faces. It struck me today that I was out walking for almost 3 hours (there are a lot of hills to climb on this walk!)(and I've got short legs), and I only saw 1 other person in the flesh in all that time (a few in cars but they don't count). Just one person. Which was nice.

Day 15

Monday 19th May
Tried to see how fast I can walk the usual 2.8 mile walk 'around the block'. 40 minutes. Due to this time trial, there was no opportunity to take any pictures. Nor was there much to take pictures of. No sheep got their heads stuck in any fences today either. I might try and work up to a bit of a jog in places from now on and see if I can get the time down.
We are now almost at £500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was only the other day that the original target of £250 was reached. . . let's keep going.
Thank you to everybody who has donated so far!!! 🙂
40 minutes!!!???. .I can't walk very fast can I? And I was puffed out.May be an image of text

Day 14

Monday 19th May
Today's trek - Went exploring the footpaths today. I think I may have strayed off the footpaths now and again - (they're not very well marked - not to Mr. 'get lost anywhere' anyway) - I seemed to end up in the corner of fields quite a bit. Anyway lots of things to see, lots more miles walked. . . and lots more money donated today which is fantastic!!!
I got a bit lost at one point, but I saw some tracks (see pic). Think it might have been a bear. I went the other way. lol etc..
The pictures of my cat were just before I headed out - I was getting the camera ready and she was just looking cute, reclining in her deck-chair in the bathroom (she has it in there because the sun comes in the window and she likes to lay in the sun)
Thank you to everybody who has already donated!!!!!! Day 13

Monday 19th May
8.4 miles today around Pitsford ReservoirMay be an image of lake and horizonMay be an image of goose, grass and lakeNo photo description available.

Day 12

Monday 19th May
Bit of sheep-based drama today. On the home run, I came across a sheep who'd got her head stuck in the fence. . . poor thing. Luckily there was a lady out walking and she knew the farm manager's number, so he was straight on the case. Phew.
Due to flying past the target of £250, it's been increased so let's try and get to £500 - that would be fanrtastic!!
So thank you again everyone who has already donated.May be an image of text that says "Walk 62 Miles in May DementiaUK Heiping.familiesFacedementia I'm aiming to raise for Dementia UK by walking 62 miles in May. Day 11

Monday 19th May
Wooo hoo. . . well this is brilliant!!! We're not even half way through the month, but we've reached 1/2 way in miles.. . but. . . more importantly the target of £250 has been reached!!!! So now let's double that and carry on!!! 🙂
That's brilliant already and thank you so much everybody for donating to :May be an image of text

Day 10

Monday 19th May
No walking today, so today's total is the same as yesterday, but we're still on track!!!
There's a new video for today though. . yesterday's reminded me of something. . . May be an image of text

Day 9

Monday 19th May
just a sheep chorus today. (The farmer had just arrived so they got really vocal). (The visuals aren't much - the sheep were on the other side of the hedge)

Day 8

Monday 19th May
Today's walk was down in Aylesbury with Mum!! 3 miles goes really quickly when you're having a good ol' catch-up along the way!! And we saw these ducks. And then we had a yummy lunch in Tring.
And because it's VE day. . also a pic of the memorial hall back here in Northamptonshire.May be an image of textMay be an image of swimming and swanNo photo description available.May be an image of the Cotswolds and text that says "E"

Day 7

Monday 19th May
Lots of miles today!! And a different route. . different cows, different sheep, and a herd of bison on the plain.May be an image of grassMay be an image of animal and grassMay be an image of silo and grass

Day 6

Monday 19th May
Not much to report from today's walk really. . . . saw the usual cows and sheep etc. There was one thing - I spotted a grey-haired gentleman about 100 yards up the road ahead of me. He turned and noticed me, and started waving. The waving was. . unnervingly enthusiastic. I didn't recognise him and this was no casual wave. It was far too familiar. Or it was the sort of waving someone does (when they're drowning) to people on the beach. He wasn't in trouble though as he turned and continued walking, turning round a couple of times, as if to check I was still following. I eventually caught up, and he said hello and apologised for waving at me . . ."because he thought I was his wife" I said "Does your wife have a beard like mine?" (I didn't really - I just thought it) (photograph included for reference) He told me his wife wore a dark coat like mine. And jeans. I can't help but think now that my 'crafty cockney' walk that I do needs more practice.May be an image of text that says "DementiaUK Helping amilies dementia Walk 62 Miles in May I'm aiming by walking raise Dementia UK miles in May. Day 5

Monday 19th May
No cow or sheep encounters today. We took the dogs to a reservoir for a walk. Just the one incident with Ziggy not looking before she leaped. . over a wall and into a pond. Oooops.. she did look sorry for herself.

Day 4

Monday 19th May
Went down to the crossroads. The sky was dark and threatening. A gang of cows had been sent to meet me - we did a deal. Decided to come home. Guitar prowess hasn't improved at all - pretty much the same as yesterday. Might go back tomorrow to complain.May be an image of grass and tree

Day 3

Monday 19th May
(This was todays excitement - 2 young sheep had got through the fence...)494647967_10231903417840308_3729049534130731100_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s600x600_tt6&_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=127cfc&_nc_ohc=zOuTF3UUSgoQ7kNvwHRC85v&_nc_oc=AdmwhsK424Z7A5adWBQueRPABJ1OGjjPxJ7VjR83q2XojHh2PQQ2gR1n-VZJQePIdotykWVlwllL1U8ibLug0VQe&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-lhr6-1.xx&_nc_gid=nf6v5UNej4wfVKBAMNyQhg&oh=00_AfIjY32Ey0GFRNA7C7CxWsY2B7BoNQGw3jybFnox6sSJ2g&oe=68316453
