I'm walking 62 Miles in October

I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Every Step for Nana: Why I'm Walking 62 Miles for Dementia UK

Sunday 5th Oct
For those of you who know me, you know that my Nana has always been the heart of our family. She’s the one with the ready smile, the quick wit, and the most comforting hugs. She’s taught me so much about life, and she continues to inspire me with her strength.
That's why this challenge is so personal. For the past few years, we’ve watched dementia begin to dim her light. It's an incredibly cruel disease that doesn’t just affect the person living with it, but every single member of the family who loves them.
Watching her journey, and seeing the quiet toll it takes on her, my family, and her amazing carers, has inspired me to do something meaningful. This walk is my way of walking alongside her, raising my voice, and raising crucial funds for a cause that matters deeply to us all.
The Challenge: My 62-Mile Commitment
I'm taking on the 'Walk 62 Miles' challenge for Dementia UK this October
Sixty-two miles is the equivalent of walking from Chesterfield to Cleethorpes roughly. It’s a huge personal undertaking, and I know it's going to test my knees, health and fitness.
But honestly? Every blister and ache will be worth it. When the going gets tough, I'll be thinking of Nana and the strength she shows every single day.
The Impact: How Your Donation Helps
I've chosen to support Dementia UK because they provide a genuine lifeline for families like mine: the Admiral Nurses.
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who are there when people need them most. They offer clinical expertise, emotional support, and practical advice to families facing dementia. When the world feels confusing and overwhelming, these nurses provide clarity and comfort.
Every single penny I raise will go directly towards funding more of these vital nurses, so no family has to face the challenges of dementia alone.
A donation of £25 could help pay for three families to call the free Admiral Nurse Helpline whenever they need support.
A donation of £50 could help pay for an Admiral Nurse to provide a comprehensive, one-to-one consultation to a family struggling to cope.
Follow My Progress and Please Donate
My training is in full swing! I've been wearing out my trainers already.  I’ll be posting updates on my progress on my facebook throughout the month, so you can see how I’m getting on.
If my story resonates with you, or if you also have a loved one affected by dementia, please consider making a donation. Any amount, no matter how small, makes a real, tangible impact.
Thank you for being part of this journey for my Nana.
