I'm walking 60 Miles in June for Dementia UK

This June, I'm walking 60 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Walking for Dementia Awareness – For My Nan, For Every Family

This June, I’ll be taking part in a funded walk to raise awareness and support for dementia — a cause that means more to me than words can explain.

Dementia is something that touched my family personally. My nan had dementia, and watching someone you love slowly change is one of the hardest things a family can go through. It doesn’t just affect memory — it affects personalities, conversations, independence, and the little moments you once took for granted.

There were days filled with confusion, sadness, and helplessness, but there were also moments of love that became even more important. Holding her hand, hearing her laugh, seeing brief flashes of recognition — those are memories I’ll carry forever.

That is why this walk matters so much to me.

I’m walking not only in memory of my nan, but for every person living with dementia and every family trying to stay strong through it. Dementia can make people feel isolated, frightened, and forgotten. Raising awareness helps bring understanding, compassion, and support to those who need it most.

This walk is also about hope — hope for better care, more support for families, and continued research that could one day change lives.

Every step I take in June will be for my nan.
For the memories dementia tried to take.
For the families facing this battle right now.
And for a future where no one has to go through it alone.

If you would like to support me, whether through donations, sharing this post, or simply spreading awareness about dementia, it would mean the world to me.

Thank you for supporting a cause that is so close to my heart. ❤️
