I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

My mum is living with mixed dementia, so I know first-hand that it affects far more than memory. It can change the way someone communicates, understands the world around them and manages everyday life. It can also have a profound impact on the people who love and care for them.

Dementia does not define a person. Behind the diagnosis is still someone with a lifetime of memories, feelings, relationships and experiences. Greater understanding helps us respond with patience, compassion and dignity, while making sure nobody affected by dementia feels alone or forgotten.

This September, I will be walking 30 miles to raise awareness and support for people living with dementia and their families. Every mile is for my mum, my auntie Wendy and for everyone facing this condition, and for a future where dementia is better understood and no family has to face it without help.

Any support, whether through a donation, sharing my story or simply taking the time to learn more about dementia, would mean so much to me. Together, we can help create a more understanding and caring world for everyone affected 🥰
