I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK
This May, I’m walking 31 miles and taking donations for Dementia UK. I’m doing this walk for my Nana, Eileen Hauley, who we lost to dementia on Boxing Day 2025. She was beautiful, stubborn in the best way, and undoubtedly one of the kindest people you could ever meet. A Mum, a Nana, a Great Nana (and a fantastic cook).
Dementia is a cruel and unfair disease. We lost our Nana way before she was gone, and no family should have to go through that devastating period feeling alone. This charity helps fund specialist nurses who can offer practical support to people living with dementia, and emotional support to their families too – something there needs to be far more of. £33 alone could fund an hour with one of these nurses, helping a family so they don’t have to fight and face the dementia journey alone like so many do.
I’m doing this walk to raise money so that other Mum’s, Nana’s, Great Nana’s and their families feel supported in whatever their dementia journey looks like. I’ll have my Beatles playlist at the ready to walk for you, with absolutely no ‘Come On Eileen’. For nana x
