I'm walking 60 Miles in June for Dementia UK

This June, I'm walking 60 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My reason 🩵

Monday 11th May

Myself, Tommy and of course Caleb will be taking part in walking 60 miles in June to raise money and awareness for dementia. 💙

This charity is incredibly close to my heart. Dementia has affected my family deeply. We lost my gran and my grandad Pete to this cruel illness, and my grandad Reg is still living with it every day. Watching the people you love slowly change is heartbreaking, and it affects the whole family, not just the person diagnosed. Dementia can take away memories, personalities, independence, and moments that families should get to treasure forever. It brings emotional pain, stress, and challenges that so many families silently face every single day.

Becoming a mum has made this feel even more emotional. It’s heartbreaking knowing that some of the people I love most never got the chance to meet my baby, and that dementia stole so many moments and memories from our family. It’s painful to think about everything this horrible disease takes away, not just from those living with it, but from generations of families too.

My mum has also been such an inspiration through all of this. After losing her mum to dementia, she still continues to care for and support my grandad Reg every single day. Seeing her strength, love, and dedication through so much heartbreak has shown me just how much dementia affects the people around those suffering too. Families carry so much of this pain quietly, while still doing everything they can for the people they love.

We’re doing this walk to honour my gran and grandad Pete, to support my grandad Reg, and to help raise awareness and funds for everyone affected by dementia. Every mile we walk is for the families who know how devastating this illness can be.

Any support, donations, or shares would mean so much to us. Thank you 🤍
