I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

In memory of my incredible Dad.

This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone.

As some of you know, in April last year my  Dad was diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia.  In his own words, he was fine he just had "a little bit of dementia"! And he was right, in a way.  However, as we prepared for the road ahead, only 4 months later on 8th August, the worst possible happened and our worlds were shattered when Dad passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep due to heart failure and Sepsis.

Our lives will never be the same but to help support other families who are starting out and those that are further along on the same journey we were heading, I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Challenge complete

Sunday 31st May
Today was my last day of the 31 miles in May challenge and a total of 43.5 miles walked.

I really do have the most incredible friends! and with your support an amazing £630 has been donated online (including gift aid) up to now. Paper donations are still coming in and are to be added to that amount, which I will collect in from my gorgeous dance ladies this week and will share the final total raised as soon as I know it.

Can't thank you enough for your generosity and helping raise awareness. Dementia is one of the cruelest diseases which will scarily effect 1 in 3 people born today!! The more raised and the more awareness people have, hopefully more family's can be helped to navigate through the difficult roads that lie ahead for them.

Much love.  Thank you all so much
