I'm making Time for a Cuppa!
Dementia UK is very close to my heart.. a member of my family has dementia and I work in a nursing home that cares for wonderful residents with dementia.
By the time you've made your brew, another person will have developed dementia. I'm going to bake, brew and raise vital funds for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £21 could pay for the telephone costs of four families calling our free Helpline whenever they need support. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support. I am really grateful for any support you can give.
Thank you! 💖

Raising Funds for Dementia UK: A Cause Close to My Heart
Wednesday 22nd AprDementia isn’t just something I’ve learned about from a distance, it’s something that has touched my life deeply, both personally and professionally. My gran is living with Alzheimer’s and through my work at Preston House, I support many residents who are also living with dementia every single day.
These experiences have shaped my understanding of what dementia really means. It’s not just memory loss. It’s confusion, fear, frustration, and moments where the people you love seem just out of reach. But it’s also resilience, connection, and the importance of compassionate care.
Working closely with residents has shown me how vital proper support is… not just for those living with dementia, but for their families too. Every small moment matters: a smile, a familiar song, a gentle conversation. These moments can bring comfort in ways that are hard to describe unless you’ve seen it firsthand.
That’s why I’ve decided to raise money for Dementia UK.
Dementia UK provides specialist support through Admiral Nurses, who offer expert guidance and emotional support to families navigating dementia. Their work makes a real difference, helping people feel less alone during an incredibly challenging time.
For me, this isn’t just about fundraising, it’s about giving something back. It’s about supporting the kind of care and understanding that I see every day at Preston House, and that I want my gran, and everyone living with dementia, to have access to.
If you’re able to donate, share, or support in any way, it would mean so much. Every contribution helps provide vital support to families who need it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for helping make a difference.
Together, we can bring more care, more understanding, and more hope to those affected by dementia.
