I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I'm walking 30 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Why I’m Walking 30 Miles This September for Dementia UK 💙

Thursday 6th Aug

This September, I’ll be taking on a challenge that’s incredibly close to my heart  walking 30 miles to raise money for Dementia UK.

If you know me, you’ll know that this isn’t “just another fundraiser.” It’s something I feel deeply passionate about.

Through my work at Kindred Support Services, I have the privilege of supporting people living with dementia and their families every single week. I’ve seen the confusion, frustration and heartbreak that dementia can bring, but I’ve also seen the incredible strength, resilience and love that families show every day.

Dementia doesn’t just affect the person with the diagnosis, it changes life for everyone around them. Spouses become carers, children become decision-makers, and families often find themselves navigating an unfamiliar and overwhelming journey.

One thing I’ve learned is that nobody should have to face that journey alone.

That’s why I’m raising money for Dementia UK. Their specialist Admiral Nurses provide expert advice, practical support and reassurance to families when they need it most. The work they do is truly life-changing.

Every mile I walk will be for the people I’ve had the honour of knowing, for the families who continue to face unimaginable challenges, and for those who will sadly receive a dementia diagnosis in the future.

Thirty miles feels like such a small challenge compared with what so many families live with every day.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be so grateful. Every pound raised will help Dementia UK continue supporting families when they need it most.

And if you’re not able to donate, simply sharing my fundraiser would mean the world to me.

Thank you for supporting me, and thank you for helping make a difference.

Together, we can help ensure that no family faces dementia alone. 💙
