Walk 31 Miles in May 2026

Join the Facebook group for Walk 31 miles in May challenge.

I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

This May, I'm walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

Week 4 - Journey Ended...almoooooost

Monday 1st Jun
Hearts full - lots of kind support on this challenge. Didn't quite reach my fundraising  goal but that wasn't the main objective anyway. That was just to honour Pi of course :P Maybe next year the plan is to give pie away in exchange for a donation and see how that goes.

I will keep working through my 31 research questions and post it here on my donation page (probably on social media too because I am egotistical :P and it would be easy to find there). I will finish all the questions, I always keep my promises - just maybe on a different timeline.  I would rather do something properly and pour my heart, soul and all the energy I possess at the moment into it than have it complete just for the sake of having it done.

My thoughts are with anyone having to face dementia in any regard. My love is with you - don't walk alone, I am here.   <3

Week 3

Tuesday 26th May
This past week found me doing my walks in Scotland while on holiday. I happened to be in the right time and right place and attended a Alzheimer Scotland Fundraiser while I was there. The kindness and generosity of the people I spoke with will always warm my heart. If you get the opportunity please support these events.

Week 2

Friday 15th May
Week 2 has also been supported by kind colleagues, family and friends. Each view, like or telling a friend about either the picture I took on the walk or about the challenge in general has helped. A serious topic and a serious challenge but sharing it with people has helped keep spirits up. The more serious a topic the more important it is to hold on to your sense of humour and keep good people around you.

Week 1

Wednesday 6th May
Walks have been getting great support, many kind hearts - thank you! I have been slowly learning more about dementia and will be posting what I discover in the Gallery section of this fundraising page and also on instagram (follow along search - CheerfulHobgoblin). I will hopefully be adding short videos there too. Happy walking!
