I'm walking 100 miles in September

I’m walking 100 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Friday 12th Sep
Here I am another week of walking complete, Saturday & Sunday are my rest days from walking. Very pleased with my progress 59 miles from the 1st to the 12th September and well on target for my 100 miles. Once again many thanks to all the people who has donated you have gave me the encouragement to carry on with this challenge.

Day 9

Tuesday 9th Sep
Day 9 today and I am well on course to walking 100 miles 43 done and 57 to go. Thank-you to everyone who has donated to this fantastic cause already. There is still plenty of time to donate and help me reach my goal of £600. Most people will be affected by dementia in one way or another throughout life, please if you can donate do so and if not please share my page.

Wednesday 3rd Sep
Hi all, 3 days in and I am clocking up the miles, I know initially this was 30 miles in September and then I changed it to 60, well my thoughts today are I am going for the 100 yes you read that right 100 miles in September. The support that has been shown to me has been spectacular and I thank each and every person who has donated already and hope to get a few more donations.

Sunday 31st Aug
Here I  am the day before the challenge and have decided to change the 30 miles to 60 and hope for more. Thanks to your generous donations I have raised more than I ever expected, hopefully will raise some more during the September month. I am ready for the challenge to begin tomorrow. I shall update on my progress. Once again many thanks to everyone so far that has donated.

Caring for people with dementia

Hi, my name is Maureen, I am 54 years old, I have worked as a homecare worker for over 30 years. I care with people with dementia everyday, and it is such a privilege to do so. I have decided to do this walk for 2 reasons. 1 It is a fantastic cause to do it for dementia UK to get some vital funds, I am sure anyone dealing with dementia or caring for someone with dementia can understand how hard it can be. Dementia UK can offer  free support for anyone affected by dementia. 2 I have recently taken up walking and thought this would be a great motivation for me to keep going.
