Walk 50 Miles in January 2026

I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK

This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

They Think Its All Over, it is now

Saturday 31st Jan
That's it. The 50 miles have been reached, 56.06 to be exact and my feet are feeling a little achey.
Its been a much easier challenge than some 50 mile ones. Maybe the weather not so bad.
I'll be putting my feet up now.

Thank you for all your support and donations

Almost there

Wednesday 28th Jan
I dont know why, but this January has sped by and so here we are 32.92 mikes on the clock. As I type this Im venturing to Folkestone for somewhere different.
In my on the spur of the moment brain operating, I thought Id do a couple of miles in Folkestone then Dover and Deal. Not a bad way to clock up the miles. Not sure how it will all pan out, but hopefully grab some photos along the way

19th January - 12 days to go

Monday 19th Jan
So I've reached day 19 and walk 15 completed. Back home after a few days in London. A walk back locally takes my total miles to 32.27.
Its been a relatively easier challenge mentally. I thought 50 miles might be difficult but has been enjoyable.
A total of 17.73 miles remains.

Once again, thank you for all your support

Whooa we're halfway there.

Friday 16th Jan
Yes, its the halfway point in miles. Well it's 26.97 to be exact. The miserable weather in London didnt affect. It wasnt as heavy as I thought it would be, so was able to knock up the miles.
Legs are feeling it this morning.

Thank you for all your support so far, means a lot

Fresh Friday

Friday 9th Jan
After two days rest due to feeling a jaded and the heavy rain, I was back on it for a walk that saw me chalk up another 1.75 miles. Just shy of 13 miles so far.
Weekend and then off next week with time in London, should help clock up the miles

Tis a bit Fresh

Saturday 3rd Jan
My second walk was around Margate on north of Thanet on the East Kent coast. For those who live or visited at this time, when the wind blows. Its northwesterly but of course it could be worse, it could be one of those joyous easterlies

Its all kicking off with walk one

Friday 2nd Jan
Big thank you to Stacey Stockton Abu Anisuzzamani and Lee Shelsher who kindly donated today.
I kicked off with a stroll from Ramsgate to Broadstairs for 2.78 miles
