I'm jogging one mile a day for Dementia UK

This April, I'm jogging one mile each day and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

Day 29

Wednesday 30th Apr
FASTEST RUN! With one day to go i have completed my fastest run!

Day 28

Wednesday 30th Apr
Fastest run yet! I think i have peaked to early! Does feel a bit easier last few days too.

Day 27

Wednesday 30th Apr
2nd fastest, it was watching the marathon eating chips that spurred me on to perform so well today!

Day 26

Wednesday 30th Apr
Saturday afternoon run, nice and warm and 5th fastest. I do think I am close to being a professional athlete now, i must be.

Day 25

Wednesday 30th Apr
After yesterday's 3rd fastest, today is 22nd fastest:-) i think that is called progress.

Day 24

Wednesday 30th Apr
3rd Fastest run! The london Marathon is this weekend so i might just run to London and do that.

Day 23

Wednesday 30th Apr
Good run today and only a week to go!

Day 22

Tuesday 22nd Apr
First day back at work and a 7pm run so harder work tonight but still 4th fastest.

Day 21

Monday 21st Apr
Bank Holiday early run and fastest yet, i did see some Olympic scouts out with stop watches so could be days from an official call up.

Day 20

Sunday 20th Apr
Easter! No chocolate for me just a near end run chat with a neighbour about cats.

Day 19

Saturday 19th Apr
Decent run this morning and my fastest so far.
Much better running in the morning for me. 11 days to go!

Day 18

Friday 18th Apr
Good run this morning less than a second off my fastest time, must be my extensive warm up program.

Day 17

Friday 18th Apr
Good run tonight after work, on the days when my knees are not so bad i can see slight glimmers of getting a little fitter and less out of breath. I do think the Olympics UK team can not hound me just yet.

Day 16

Friday 18th Apr
Back from camping and knackered but managed to go a little faster than hedgehog.

Day 15

Friday 18th Apr
Had Gracie running with me today! We ran around the campsite in the drizzle. She was encouraging me telling me to run as a wolf was behind me. It worked as i did a pretty good time today.

Day 14

Friday 18th Apr
First day of my 3 day holiday going camping today so got my run in this morning. Was good to be out in the sun but I don't think I am getting any quicker.

Day 13

Friday 18th Apr
Good run but I had been out at my mum's celebrating her birthday and I had eaten loads so i was harder getting through it today. I think you are meant to eat a banana before yyou run not loads of cake.

Day 12

Friday 18th Apr
Slower run today, i reckon the morning is the best time for me. Saw lots of other runners today most of them were 20 years younger than me and faster.

Day 11

Friday 18th Apr
Still sunny and my knees still hurt but getting through it!

Day 10

Thursday 10th Apr
Day 10 over, 1/3 of the way through! Been so lucky with the weather too! Felt a tad easier tonight, some days my knees really hurt but tonight they were not too bad.

Day 9

Wednesday 9th Apr
Tough on the knees tonight but was my fastest time.

Day 8

Tuesday 8th Apr
Tougher tonight after work but was the quickest i have been!

Day 7

Tuesday 8th Apr
Tough one today as my aging knees are feeling it.

Day 6

Sunday 6th Apr
Bit tougher after an afternoon in the sun and Peroni but still completed it 😄

Day 5

Sunday 6th Apr
Easier run today. I stopped to help an old lady look for a glove and another one retrieve a creme egg that had rolled under her car.

Day 4

Friday 4th Apr
Felt tougher on my legs today but I remembered that i would be running towards a pub so that spurred me on.

Day 3

Thursday 3rd Apr
Bit tougher today as my knees are feeling it! Still, only 27 runs to go.

Day 2

Wednesday 2nd Apr
Lovely sunny weather again today. Thought I saw Mo Farah but he was well behind me so it could have been somebody else.

Day 1

Wednesday 2nd Apr
First date of the challenge today. Lovely sunny weather managed to complete over a mile so very pleased, I also definitely overtook a snail.
