I'm walking 31 Miles in May for Dementia UK

Hi, I’m Mark and I live in Inverness. I’ve always enjoyed walking and spend a lot of time outdoors, especially taking our family dog, Fionn, out for daily walks. I also like to challenge myself with longer routes and often take part in organised walks with Clarity Walks.

This May, I’m taking on the challenge of walking 31 miles and raising funds for Dementia UK. It’s a cause that’s very close to my heart, as my Grandma sadly passed away with dementia. Seeing the impact it has on individuals and families is something that stays with you, and I want to do something meaningful to help.

I’m walking to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. Dementia UK provides specialist Admiral Nurses who offer practical advice and emotional support to families who need it most.

Any donation, big or small, would mean a lot and truly makes a difference. Just £33 could fund an Admiral Nurse to spend an hour supporting a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support when they need it most.

Thank you so much for your support.

31 miles completed - And I’m still walking!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me so far.

As of 10th May, I’ve already completed the 31 miles for Dementia UK and I’m delighted to have raised £150 so far. I’m incredibly grateful for all the donations and kind messages of support.

This challenge means a lot to me because my Grandma sadly passed away with dementia, so raising money for Dementia UK is a cause very close to my heart.

Although I’ve reached the original 31-mile goal, I’m going to keep walking throughout May to see how many miles I can achieve by the end of the month.

Thank you again to everyone who has donated. Your generosity is helping Dementia UK provide vital support to families facing dementia, and every contribution really does make a difference.
