Walk 30 Miles in September 2026

Join the Facebook group for Walk 30 miles in September challenge.

I'm walking 30 Miles in September for Dementia UK

This September, I shall be walking 30 miles to raise funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone.

I will walk in aid of Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and I would be so grateful for your support.

If you are able to give,  your donation, however big or small, would make a difference to Dementia UK.  For example, £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support.

Please help if you feel able.  I’ve seen first hand the effects of this cruel condition, and I know many others who are affected by it.

Thank you, your support truly matters.

My Updates

I did it!

Friday 2nd Oct
Challenge completed!  Thirty seven miles walked, £465 donated, and every step was a total pleasure.  Knowing much-needed funds were being raised for Dementia UK  meant that getting out there and putting one foot in front of the other was important, and I loved it.

To my fabulous sponsors, cheerleaders and fellow walkers, thank you so much.  Your donations, encouragement and kind words mean everything, and I’m proud to have had you alongside.

Halfway Through!

Tuesday 15th Sep
Another couple of walks since I last posted and I’m now up to twenty miles.  Yaay!  🥳  It’s all going well and I’m feeling very grateful.

11 September Update

Friday 11th Sep
A busy week, which saw me squeezing in walks whenever I could.  Nevertheless, I got out there and managed another 9 miles, giving me a total to date of more than 14 miles.  I even managed some running on one outing!  It’s all going well, and I’m feeling even more motivated for the second half of the month.   I’ve attached a photo from one of this week’s walks.  Autumn is here!

In other - fantastic - news, I’ve exceeded my sponsorship target!  If you’ve donated, thank you so much, I really appreciate your generosity.  There’s still time to give, and every penny counts, so any amount would be very gratefully received.  🙏

4 September Update

Friday 4th Sep
A quick update to say that I’ve completed three walks so far and have logged 5.6 miles.  No big walks yet, but it’s going well and I hope to clock up more miles over the weekend.  With any luck, I may even get some decent photos to share.

A big thank you to all my sponsors so far, your generosity and encouragement are truly appreciated.

Wishing everyone a great weekend. x

Well done Lynn! A great cause and like so many it’s a condition that we have had family members past and present affected by this heart breaking condition. We definitely cherish the memories and enjoy the present more if nothing else xx
