I'm walking 100 miles in May

I’m walking 100 miles in May and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

Final day of challenge!!

Saturday 31st May
So, 31st May and the final day of walk 100 miles in May. It coincides with my solo trip to Malta and sight seeing  today allowed me to smash my target reaching  111 miles walked in the month. I’m more than happy with that, sometimes having to force myself off the couch. Much more importantly thanks to absolutely amazing support and unbelievable donations we have reached £936 in sponsorship. Brilliant! Money that will be a great help in the fight against all forms of dementia, and ‘Early Onset’ which so cruelly hit  Liz around seven years ago and at such a young age, 54. As many of you will know this impacted Liz very quickly and Nats, Rob and myself as well as our wider family and friends watched her deteriorate helpless in trying to stop it. In living through the impact of this disease what I have noticed is just how many other families are also impacted by it in one form or another and often it’s unspoken about. So lets ensure we keep up the fight and get this disease talked about more so that it gets the right levels of research and investment into slowing and maybe one day finding a cure.
Anyway, sorry to ramble on. If this post reminds you that you need to donate that would be great and maybe we can push the fundraising well beyond my £600.
One final thank you to everyone again and now I’m off for a pint!! 🍺

Thank you to my Sponsors
