I’m walking 62 Miles in October and raising funds so that families affected by dementia get the specialist help and advice they need. I would be grateful for your support.

An £10 donation can cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

I cannot tell you how absolutely amazing you all are! I just wanted to do something, physical to make a difference for other families, during a time where so much is outside of my control!

I never imagined it would allow me to increase my fundraising target, but I shouldn’t have been surprised. I am surrounded by so many amazingly, generous, supportive friends and family. Words cannot express my gratitude but please please please know how extremely grateful for you all I am.

I cannot thank you all enough… this is a journey, not in miles but in being able to navigate the changing landscape that dementia brings … we’re working hard behind the scenes to support Dad . There are more families like ours, people who are desperately trying to navigate the changes and challenges this illness brings, Whilst still working, providing care and planning for the future. Dementia UK offer such support which can help ease some of those challenges.

Time for some miles in the Lakes

Hey All… Here goes 2 days here in the lakes to clock up some more miles … with some company.. get to do it with my fabulously supportive husband, and Mr Maitland. .. I explained to dad what I was doing this weekend .. I got a reassuring smile and a hug… however he didn’t remember walking some of Derwentwater with my those years ago! But to get a hug and some love off him is plenty … THANKYOU ALL FOR YOUR DONATIONS so far… not far from target .. perhaps may raise more than planned .. more photos to come LOVE YOU ALL xx

Hey All,

Wow half my target raised and not set foot out yet today … I can’t thank you enough for checking out the page and support. Even if you cannot donate I appreciate your support and encouragement. Many will know what living with family with dementia means, even those who work with those people with dementia can relate. The amazing support that dementia uk provides is just so needed to help us navigate what is a scary, confusing, challenging period all whilst trying to be carers, wives, husbands, daughters, sons, and grandchildren. It’s a rocky road, and without the support of admiral nurses and wider support networks it can prove impossible. Please take time to donate or share with others how important charities like these are.
