I'm walking 30 miles in September

I’m walking 30 Miles in September and raising funds for families affected by dementia. I would be grateful for your support.

An £8 donation could cover the telephone costs of two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund an hour with a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse, helping a family with practical solutions and emotional support.

Thank you!

30th day complete! 🎉🎉

Tuesday 30th Sep
Hi all,
My Last day complete for my sponsored walk in September to help raise funds for Dementia UK.
I  would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support and donations that you have kindly  given. It means such a lot to me and is close to my heart.
I hope all funds raised go towards efforts to fix funding for Dementia care, pushing for fairer systems so that more families can access the specialist support they need when and where they need it.
Love to you all.

-Losing track of conversations or repeating things .
-Feeling anxious, depressed or upset about forgetfulness.
-Struggling to read or write properly.
-Feeling confused in a familiar environment.

5th day complete ! 🎉🎉

Friday 5th Sep
My highest distance walked today at approx 3.5 miles 🥳. Happy with that 🙂.
Another fact: Vascular Dementia is caused by reduced blood flow to the brain. This can present as changes in mood, behaviour and personality, which  can be early symptoms, sometimes more prominent than memory issues.
Any donations are greatly appreciated.

4th day complete! 🎉🎉

Thursday 4th Sep
Walked 1.5 miles today, which isn't bad,  considering the weather has been constant rain ☔ for most of the day.
Did you know that the most common type of Dementia in the UK is Alzheimer's disease, accounting for a significant proportion of cases. It is caused by the build up of proteins in the brain, which damages brain cells and their ability to transmit messages, leading to progressive memory loss and other cognitive difficulties.
Any donations are hugely appreciated.

3rd day walk! 🎉🎉

Wednesday 3rd Sep
Another nice walk, approx 2.6 miles. Managed to dodge most of the rain ☔  too, which was a bonus! 🙂
Investment in Dementia research still remains low compared to other major health conditions, even though recent research has shown that the number of people living with Dementia is set to double to 1.7 million by 2040.  It  is very important to me to raise awareness about this worthy cause to help increase funds in Dementia  research ❤.
Any donation is greatly appreciated.

2nd day complete ! 🙂🥳

Tuesday 2nd Sep
Another great walk after a busy day.
Managed approx 2.2 miles. It's been geat getting some exercise! 🙂
Did you know that Dementia is a progressive term for diseases that cause irreversible damage to brain cells, leading to memory loss, confusion, and difficulty with thinking, speaking and daily activities.
Any donations are greatly appreciated. ❤️

First Mile today. 🎉🎉

Monday 1st Sep
Well my first Mile complete today! 🎉. It was brilliant to get out in the fresh air to do some exercise. I am particularly pleased , as my steps totaled 2 miles in all. Not bad for a start!
Did you know that currently around one million people in the UK have a diagnosis of Dementia. Almost all of us will know someone  living with the condition.
I am very grateful for all the support so far and if anyone could make a contribution for this worthy cause, I would truly appreciate it.
Thank you ❤️.
