I'm running 100K for Dementia UK

Throughout February, i’ll be attempting to run 100K (much to my physio’s horror - please don’t tell her 🙃) to raise money for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity.

Last year, at just 64, my wonderful dad was diagnosed with young onset vascular dementia. It was a huge shock and has taken a lot of adjusting. Anyone who knows him knows his humour and personality are truly like no other - he’s always been the one making us laugh and lifting the room with his awful one liners! 😂 

Seeing him face this has been incredibly hard, but we’ve been so grateful for the care, guidance and support we’ve received.

That’s why I’m doing this. Every donation - big or small - helps Dementia UK continue their vital work supporting families like ours, and I would be so incredibly grateful for your support.

I just want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to every single person who has sponsored and supported me throughout my 100km challenge for Dementia UK 💙


Throughout February, I set out to run 100km to raise money for Dementia UK. There were definitely moments when my legs questioned my life choices… but your donations, encouragement, messages and check-ins kept me going every step of the way.


I’m so proud (and slightly relieved!) to say that I did it 🎉 and together we’ve raised over £3,000, making this the top fundraiser for Dementia UK. 


I genuinely couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for believing in me, backing this challenge, and supporting such an important cause. I’m incredibly grateful 💕

Final week ♥️

Sunday 22nd Feb

I just want to say another huge thank you to everyone who has supported me this month in my 100km challenge for Dementia UK 💙

I’m now heading into my final week with 17km left to run, and I honestly couldn’t have got this far without all of you behind me.

Week 1

Sunday 8th Feb

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me so far in taking on the 100km challenge for Dementia UK 🫶

Your generosity and encouragement mean so much and have really motivated me to keep going, even on the tougher days - like today when running 10km nearly sent me over the edge 😂

Week 1 is complete and I’ve reached 46km… so I’m almost halfway there already! I couldn’t have done this without all your amazing support.

100K in February: Excited, nervous, and ready ♥️

Thursday 29th Jan

In 3 days time, I’ll begin the challenge of running 100K in February. I’m feeling excited and nervous!

Running has a funny way of teaching patience. Some days feel strong, others feel heavy, and progress isn’t always obvious -you just need to keep going. Living with dementia feels much the same. It’s unpredictable, challenging, and requires you to adapt day by day.

I’m doing this for my dad. He’s always been full of humour and personality, the kind of person who could lift a room without trying. Since his diagnosis, we’ve learned that some days are easier than others, and all you can do is keep moving forward, even when the path isn’t clear.

This challenge isn’t about speed or perfection. It’s about consistency, resilience, and showing up - values that mean even more when every kilometre is for my best friend. 


February won’t be easy, but neither is this journey. So I’ll take it the same way we take everything else: one step at a time 🫶🏻
