Jog 1 Mile a Day in April

Jog 1 Mile a Day in April

I'm jogging one mile a day for Dementia UK to help all people suffering with different types of Dementia and those who care for them

This April, I'm jogging one mile each day and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

My Updates

Challenge complete

Wednesday 30th Apr
Just to confirm my final total of 31.878 miles completed in April.  Really improved my physical and mental health and all for a good cause.  Thank you for your support.  I am determined to keep running

Weekly update

Sunday 27th Apr
Had a great week completing 9.5 miles so have reached the 30 mile target.  Any running I do now is a bonus

Easter weekend update

Sunday 20th Apr
Still just ahead of schedule with 20.2 miles completed so far.  Helped by two trips to the gym this week where 2 miles was achieved at each session.  Another windy week which has made the outdoor running more of a challenge.

Half way mark

Tuesday 15th Apr
Made a big effort as it is the halfway mark.  Went to the gym and jogged 2.237 miles on the treadmill.  Now I am ahead of schedule

Week 2 update

Sunday 13th Apr
Only just short of 7 miles for the week which I am very pleased about considering the busy week I have had.

Weekly update

Sunday 6th Apr
I have now completed 6 miles in the first six days so on target.  The windy conditions have played a big part this week and made outdoor running harder than I expected.  May have to make more use of the treadmill at the gym to get longer runs done going forward.

First run

Tuesday 1st Apr
Just completed my first mile.  A bit harder than I expected  due to the gusty wind.
