March Dog Walking Challenge

I'm walking 100K with the Tub-tubs for Dementia UK

This March, I'm walking 100K with Tubs and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. Just £8 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free Helpline. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Thank you!

I'm walking 100K with the Tub-tubs for Dementia UK

Thursday 6th Mar
So Eve has told me off for not promoting this more and she told me to tell you all why I'm doing it.
Last week was the 5th anniversary of her amazing Grandad John passing away. He was the most caring, lovely man and her absolute world. He had Vascular Dementia and had lived with it for a few years. It wasn't actually the dementia that took him in the end, but sometimes I see that as a blessing, as I cant imagine the pain she would have experienced if his recognition of her ever wavered.
He would often say to Eve "which one are you again?" with her knowing that he was joking. Eve also played, and consistently beat him at, the card game Happy Families because he could never remember what family member he had just asked for. He would go to her "you aren't cheating are you?" 😆
John had help from organisations that are supported by dementia nurses and knowing how differently it could have been for him had it had time to progress further, and seeing so many other families affected by this (although I didn't know him, my biological dad died from Alzheimers - so poor Eve is fucked!) and given that me and The Tub-tubs are always out walking anyway, I just thought I'd try and help out a charity that helps so many.
62k seems too doable for us though - so I am going to aim for 100.
So if you've got a couple of quid you could chuck my way, that would be really appreciated. I'll also send you a picture of Tub-tubs when we get his charity bandana..... what more could you want!?
Thank you
