I'm walking 50 Miles in January for Dementia UK
This January, I'm walking 50 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £33 could fund a new dementia specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour helping a family in the community, offering practical solutions and emotional support to cope with their loved one’s distressed behaviour.

Sunday 25th Jan Well I had a really bad start with mum taken into hospital on the 5th Jan (still there) and bout of flu which had me in bed three days (still not completely gone) but managed 18.27 miles this week which puts me on 35.5 miles! 14.5 and a half to go and 6 days to do it… in the words of mum favourite song I will be ‘Livin on a Prayer’ this week to make it to the end but I will do it! First walk of the year
Sunday 4th Jan First walk done today 9.02 miles and what a beautiful day to do it! I was joined by a friend Emma and lovey Clara the dog. Gorgeous walk through the Yorkshire Dales bit achy but feeling good! Share
My reasons
Monday 15th Dec This year my mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia and my mother in law with Alzheimer’s. Two very different types of dementia which are both bringing challenges but as a family we are learning how to manage them.Thank you to my Sponsors
