why I’m doing this🩷

Monday 29th Sep

This year, I’ve decided to take part in the Walk for Dementia. It’s more than just a fundraiser or a day out—it’s a deeply personal cause that’s very close to my heart.

Dementia isn’t just about memory loss. It changes lives, not only for those who are diagnosed but also for their families, friends, and carers. Watching someone you love slowly lose parts of themselves is incredibly difficult. It can feel like you’re grieving little by little, even while they are still here.

For me, this walk is about my grandad. It’s about remembering the wonderful person they are beyond the diagnosis, and making sure others living with dementia receive the care, understanding, and support they deserve.

By walking, I’m not just raising money—I’m raising awareness. Every step I take is a step toward a future where families facing dementia don’t feel alone, where there’s better research, better care, and more hope.

This walk is my way of turning something painful into something positive. It’s a chance to give back, to stand alongside others who have walked the same path, and to keep the memory of those affected alive in the most meaningful way.

If you’d like to support, whether by donating, joining me on the walk, or simply sharing the message, it would mean the world. Together, we can make a difference for everyone touched by dementia.
